How to Create the Perfect Spa Bathroom

Converting your bathroom into a spa bathroom can be a luxurious and relaxing addition to your home. Creating a spa bathroom is not just about fixtures and feel, it’s also about having the proper plumbing. Your spa bathroom may look great but in order to get the relaxation you are looking for, you need to have the proper plumbing.

Here are a few things to consider when working with your contractor.

1. Water Pressure

A spa bathroom typically requires a higher water pressure than a regular bathroom. This is because spa features such as rain showers and body jets require a strong flow of water. If your water pressure is too low, you may need to install a water pressure booster.

2. Drainpipes

Spa bathrooms often have multiple drains, such as a drain for the bathtub, a drain for the shower, and a drain for the sink. Make sure that your drainpipes are large enough to handle the increased water flow.

3. Water Heater

A spa bathroom requires a lot of hot water. Make sure that your water heater is large enough to supply enough hot water for all of your spa features.

4. Plumbing Fixtures

Choose plumbing fixtures that are designed for spa bathrooms. This includes fixtures that are made of durable materials and that can withstand the increased water pressure.

5. Test and Check

Make sure that all of your plumbing fixtures are properly installed and that there are no leaks.
